Kyiv starts preparations for Eurovision 2017

26.05.2016 15:23 "Agro Perspectiva" (Kyiv) — As of today, while speaking within the Kyiv City Council session, the City Mayor Vitaliy Klichko said that Kyiv starts preparations for the song contest Eurovision 2017 to hold it at a high-level next year, NRCU says referring to the Kyiv City Administration press service report. It is to be reminded, the Ukrainian singer Jamala won in the final of the Eurovision 2016 with the song «1944,» which took place in Stockholm ( Sweden) on May 14, and so, due to the competition rules, the Eurovision 2017 is to be held in the winner country which singer won the previous year. Thus, Eurovision 2017 will be held in Ukraine. It is to be admitted, earlier, mayors of several Ukrainian regional centers had already expressed their willingness to stage Eurovision 2017 in their cities. As to the report, the Kyiv Mayor Vitali Klitschko said that the Ukrainian capital would properly prepare to host the Eurovision at the highest level. Klitschko named the Olympiysky National Sports Complex, which is located at the center of Kyiv, as the one of possible venues for holding the contest. It is to be admitted, the European Broadcasting Union on this year Jun 1 will provide Ukraine with the norms for the Eurovision 2017, but already now the representatives of the Ukrainian sports arenas are discussing their technical possibilities to host the contest events.
