Zero Ebola cases "only acceptable outcome"
03.01.2015 10:09 "Agro Perspectiva" (Kyiv) —
The elimination of all cases of the deadly Ebola disease in West Africa is the «only acceptable outcome», UN Radio says referring to the Head of the UN Mission for Ebola Emergency Response (UNMEER) Anthony Banbury report.
As to the report, over 7900 people have died from Ebola mainly in Guinea, Liberia and Sierra Leone.
Over 20,200 cases of the virus have also been confirmed.
The UNMEER chief admits the number of predicted cases back in September was much higher than the actual number of cases today.
«We have a total of around 20,000 new cases instead of 1.4 million. Thats 1.4 per cent of what was being projected as a possibility by credible scientists back in September,» Mr. Banbury stresses.
