nternational tourism on track to end 2014 with record numbers

International tourism is set to hit a new record at the end of 2014 with over 1.1 milliard international tourists travelling the world in one single year, UN Radio says referring to the World Tourism Organization (UNWTO) report.
As to the report, the World Tourism Barometer shows that during the first ten months of 2014, the number of international travelers grew by 5 per cent, above expectations.
By region, the strongest growth was registered in the Americas, followed by Asia and the Pacific and Europe.
By sub-region, UNWTO says North America and South Asia were what they called «the star performers».
Also, UNWTO admits the trends are encouraging as tourism is one of the sectors which creates the most job opportunities.
