Cabinet can determine number of prices State regulation objects/minimal prices end Apr-early May

Within end Apr-early May Cabinet can define number of prices State regulation objects for 2006/07 MY and fix their minimal prices, reported Vice-Premier Yuriy Melnyk.
«Minimal prices must be established within end Apr-early May. Let’s not drag out this process,» said Melnyk. He added foods prices forming is most important issue for agrarians.
Vice-Premier made it known presently Government examines question of number of prices State regulation objects determining for 2006/07 MY.
As earlier reported, Ministry of Agrarian Policy had proposed Cabinet to prolong for 2006/07 MY prices State regulation for wheat, wheat/rye mixture, rye and sugar.
Ministry of Agrarian Policy had proposed to establish wheat (code:1001 10 00 90)/rye (code: 1002 00 00 00) prices State regulation for Jul 1/06-Jun 30/07 and beet sugar
(code: 1 701 12) — for Sept 1/06-Aug 31/07.
Thus, Ministry of Agrarian Policy doesn’t consider expedient to prolong sunseeds, maize, barley and oats prices State regulation for 2006/07 MY.
End May 2005 Cabinet had introduced prices State regulation for a number of food articles (wheat, rye, barley, oats, maize, sunseeds and sugar) and approved methodics of minimal purchase prices determining for some prices State regulation objects.
Prices State regulation is stipulated by Law «About State Support of Agriculture of Ukraine».
As to Law, Cabinet has right to establish prices State regulation for all/separate objects (with their full number to be officially promulgated not later 30 days after corresponding MY beginning).
