Ukrainian foods export to EU up 14% within 7 months

Within the recent 7 months the export of Ukrainian products to the European Union totaled US$2 985.9 million, up 14% (or US$367.5 million) against the same period of 2013. The share of the EU in the Ukrainian total agricultural products’ foreign trade is 35.3%, Government Portal reports.
On average, foreign trade between Ukraine and the EU countries has upped by US$124 million, while the surplus has grown by 91.6% and amounted to US$1 278 million.
As for the foreign trade turnover of the Ukrainian agro-industrial complex, within the 7 months of 2014 it has made up US$13.3 milliard or 20.5% of total Ukrainian foreign trade turnover, the balance is positive and amounts to US$5.3 milliard. The most important factors of the agricultural products’ trade surplus still remain the grain crops (36.8%), oil (25%) and oilseeds (5.8%).
As to report, within this period (January — July 2014) the Ukrainian export structure has remained regular and made up 32.1% to the EU countries, 33.8% to the Asian countries, 17.7% to the CIS countries, 14.4% — to the African countries.
It is to be admitted, due to the political situation and the military aggression, as well as the economic downturn in relations with the Russian Federation, the priority markets for domestic food has appeared to be the EU countries as well as Middle East, North Africa and East Asia countries.
