Ukrainian President met with Governor General of Canada

18.09.2014 09:37 "Agro Perspectiva" (Kyiv) — In Ottawa, President of Ukraine Petro Poroshenko had a meeting with Governor General of Canada David Johnston, President Petro Poroshenko Press Office reports As to the report, the Head of State noted particular historical role of Canada in the establishment of Ukraine as independent democratic state and traditionally friendly interstate relations that have a true character of Distinctive partnership. Besides, Petro Poroshenko expressed gratitude for political support and economic assistance that Canada has been providing to Ukraine for many years. He also mentioned close interpersonal ties of the two countries. As to the report, David Johnston wished Ukraine to achieve peace as soon as possible and noted that Canada was ready to engage in the post-war restoration of Donetsk and Luhansk regions. He also suggested developing bilateral cooperation in the spheres of high technologies, energy and science.
