Yatseniuk after NSDC meeting: Government is taking every measure to ensure peace, stability and unity of Ukrainian state

03.03.2014 10:57 "Agro Perspectiva" (Kyiv) — Military intervention to Ukraine is inacceptable and violates all international agreements, international rules and commitments, and firstly those of Russia. The Prime Minister of Ukraine Arsenii Yatseniuk told that during a briefing in the Parliament after an emergency meeting of the National Security and Defence Council on March 1, Government Portal reports. «As Ukraine we declare: we are ready to preserve our sovereignty and convinced that Russia would not resort to military intervention on the territory of Ukraine as such military intervention on such conditions would be the start of war and end of any relations between Ukraine and Russia,» A. Yatseniuk announced. According to him, the Government of Ukraine is taking every measure to ensure peace, stability and unity of Ukrainian state. «We are ready to ensure material-technical and financial maintenance in order to support the Armed Forces of Ukraine and secure the defense of Ukraine,» the Head of Government emphasized. The Prime Minister informs, he has held a series of talks with European and American partners and a conversation with the Prime Minister of the Russian Federation Dmytro Medvedev: «The Russian party assured the decision on invasion of Ukraine territory by the troops hadn’t been taken, but a decision on such opportunity had been taken instead». On his part, Arsenii Yatseniuk noted there existed no grounds for considering and adopting of such decision in Ukraine: «We are preserving peace and stability in Ukraine. Neither aggressors nor provokers have a right to intrude into internal matters of Ukraine. There are neither juridical, nor political or military grounds for the military aggression by Russia.» «Regarding the territory of the Autonomous Republic of Crimea, which has been and remains an integral part of Ukrainian country, we protect on Ukraine’s territory everyone who speaks either Ukrainian or Russian, who attends either churches of Moscow or Kyiv Patriarchate, who has a particular vision of historical processes within the state. We protect everyone who has the passport of Ukraine’s citizen,» he stressed. According to Arsenii Yatseniuk, he declared clearly to the Russian party that Ukraine would be protecting also the citizens of the Russian Federation: «Any reasons with regards to the military intervention to protect Russian citizens are impossible. The Government of Ukraine guarantees peace, stability and security». Arsenii Yatseniuk called on the Russian party to immediately return the troops of the Black Sea Fleet of the Russian Federation to the permanent deployment places and in such a way to reduce the strain. To his conviction all the difficult issues with western partners and the RF must be solved through a political dialog inside the country. Moreover, Arsenii Yatseniuk addressed the Ukrainian people, in particular, those living in the Crimean Autonomous Republic: «We will afford none to split our country, none, using the tanks, weapon and soldiers, to solve internal political issues, which should be solved by ourselves independently». The Prime Minister noted everything what happens these days in Ukraine is a common responsibility. «As Ukrainian nation we must unite and we are united,» Arsenii Yatseniuk underlined.
