President: Ukraine and China have great potential for cooperation

Cooperation between Ukraine and China has been intensified in all directions of mutual interest in the last 3 years. It was stated by the President at the second Ukrainian-Chinese business-forum in Beijing, President Viktor Yanukovych Press Office reports.
«Common initiatives and plans approved at the highest level are a basis for the further successful implementation of respective Ukrainian-Chinese programs and projects,» the Head of State emphasized.
According to the Head of State, Ukrainian-Chinese dialogue held in the atmosphere of friendship, trust and mutual understanding for more than 20 years already is united by the common high goal — to increase the welfare of citizens and strengthen the authority of our states at the international arena.
«There is a great potential for cooperation and a great interest of Ukrainian and Chinese entrepreneurs in the further development of trade-economic relations,» Viktor Yanukovych noted adding that Ukraine would support the initiatives of Xi Jinping on the development of the Great Silk Road.
The President emphasized that the establishment of maximally comfort conditions for Ukrainian and Chinese business would provide practical sense for the strategic partnership between the two states.
At the same time, he noted that the opportunities of Ukrainian-Chinese cooperation were mostly unused and required substantial examination and development.
«We have already made certain successful practical steps. Particularly, we have started the implementation of several bilateral projects in agriculture, energy and development of city, transport and industrial infrastructure with involvement of Chinese capital, technologies and equipment,» Viktor Yanukovych said.
Before the beginning of the business-forum, the Head of State watched the exhibition of Ukrainian-Chinese joint projects.
