Mykola Azarov outlines objectives for the second half of 2013

11.07.2013 17:14 "Agro Perspectiva" (Kyiv) — Prime Minister Mykola Azarov at the Cabinet of Ministers dated on 11 July 2013, has outlined the main objectives of economic development in the second half to achieve the maximum positive effect, Government Portal reports. The Head of the Government stressed on the need to restore the full crediting of the real sector by banks. According to him central executive authorities prepared 73 projects that will be implemented using a mechanism of state guarantees. Of these, 52 projects are pending by banks and so far only five projects received a positive assessment of banks. But by today, the funding has not started. From more than eight hundred projects declared by regional administrations, on the preliminary examination in banks are only 109. And again only 4 passed «It is not enough. The Ministry of Finance, the National Bank and the regional administrations should soon find mechanisms to encourage banks to invest in the economy,» Mykola Azarov stressed «The Government supports the creation of a special government body, authorized to work with investors. We want to organize a modern State Investment Office, which will be a leader, advocate and ombudsman system for investors who create jobs in Ukraine and derive Ukrainian industry to new technological level,» Mykola Azarov said. Thus he points attention of the head of the State Service for Regulatory Policy and Entrepreneurship Development Mykhailo Brodskyi that activation of the internal market requires vigorous work to support small and medium businesses. In October the Government will hear a report on your work. Mykola Azarov also stressed on the implementation of the Program of Economic Revitalization in the regions. According to him, each region has to create and protect at the state level, so to speak, a roadmap of investment activities by the end of the year and for 2014. «On Tuesday at a meeting of members of the Cabinet of Ministers with heads of regional administrations, we agreed that one of the first meetings of the Government in September will be devoted how such roadmaps of investment are being performed. The Government supports the initiative of the heads of regional administrations to give regions more power and responsibility, additional resources for economic development,» PM noted. However, he drew attention to other aspect of the State Program, the human dimension. «Revitalization of the economy must be accompanied by rising incomes of people, levelling the quality of life in the regions and with general social modernization. The President of Ukraine stressed that the activation of economic development is not an end in itself. The value for us is secured by economic the growth in the quality of life of citizens of Ukraine. Therefore, the Ministry of Social Policy should focus on improving the quality of social services to the population,» Mykola Azarov said.
