Ukrainian market rewiew. Sunflower
Price situation on Ukrainian sunseeds’ market within this week was mainly stable. As earlier, part of companies practically didn’t carry out any purchasing, due to having piled up enough sunseeds’ stocks, while sunseeds’ demand of other companies was rather high, owing to their having not enough resources within this season to charge production capacities up to norm.

Domestic market’s food wheat as well as feed barley prices continue falling, due to lack of demand and significant supply. Ukrainian companies are seriously indented to start exporting wheat; therefore, beginning of surplus wheat’s export is most probable to be seen already in May. Certainly, if wheat export is permitted.

Within last week Ukrainian sunseeds’ trade was very slack. Some processors either reduced their sunseeds’ purchases to minimum, declaring low purchase prices, or stopped purchasing totally, due to having accumulated enough sunseeds to full-charge their processing capacities for this season.

There were no sharp prices’ fluctuations on Ukrainian domestic market last week. Most grains’ prices didn’t change, only maize and buckwheat prices continued growing.

There weren’t any substantial price changes within last week, due to some uncertainty on market caused by canceling of barley’s VAT reimbursement return as well as to main maize importers’ refusal of further purchases.

Within last week Ukrainian domestic market sunseeds’ prices were growing up. Average sunseeds’ prices rose UAH80–150. Processors’ demands were ranging within UAH1380–1450/t, EXW. Sunseeds’ supply prices were growing up, exceeding UAH1450/t, EXW.

There was a sharp feed maize prices’ rise last week, with prices growing by UAH100-120. Feed barley prices were growing up as well, yet not so rapidly. Food grains’ prices started to slope up gradually. Significant purchase prices’ rise was noticed only in some regions.
