Europe/Central Asia 2018 poor people number exceeded 4 million

As of 1990, 36% world population lived on below US$2 per day; within 25 years, the share of these people declined to 10% (by end 2018 — to just 8.6%),
UN Radio says referring to the UN Secretary General Antonio Guterres last week report.
As to Guterres, as of now, however, the global poor population numver decline rates have significantly slowed down — what casts doubt on the fulfillment of the UN task to eliminate global poverty within the next 10 years.
«Despite this impressive progress, the world, upon whole, now is moving too slowly towards eradicating of the extreme poverty by 2030, as it is stipulated by the Goal 1 on sustainable development of the 2030 Agenda,» concluded the UN Head.
As to the report, within last few years, poverty reduction within developing countries and some middle-income countries has slowed down due to the global economic downturn, conflicts, effects of climate change and natural disasters. Within many world regions, per capita gross domestic product growth rates are much down against those needed to eradicate poverty.
It is to be admitted, as of 2018, there were 1.3 milliard poor people within the world: 560 million within sub-Saharan Africa (546 million — South Asia, 118 million — East Asia and the Pacific, 66 million — Arab states, 32 million — Latin America and the Caribbean, and 4 million — Europe and Central Asia).
