Agrarian Ministry strengthens pesticides control

25.06.2018 21:04 "Agro Perspectiva" (Kyiv) — To prevent the domestic environment poisoning with pesticides and agrochemicals, the Ukrainian Ministry of Agrarian Policy and Food charged the Ukrainian State Service for Foods Safety and Consumer Protection to strengthen control over the use/import of the plants protection means, Ukrinform says referring to Ukrainian First Deputy Minister of Agrarian Policy and Food Maxym Martyniuk this week report. «There are often cases when the domestic agricultural producers violate regulations on the use of the plant protection means, the technology of their bringing into the soil, and compliance with sanitary standards. The plant protection means often do not comply with the labeling and certification, there are errors in the dosage. So, the Ukrainian State Service for Foods Safety and Consumer Protection has been charged to strengthen the control over the use and import of the plant protection means,» Martyniuk said. As to the earlier report, as of now, the bees have started perishing within Ukraine on a large scale. The beekeepers are certain it has been caused by the cheap poisonous pesticides used by the domestic agrarians to treat their land plots. It is to be admitted, as for the experts, now within Ukraine there are almost 8,000 tons of the falsified plant protection means are on sale; in meanwhile, Ukrainian domestic total annual demand for the plant protection means is now 100,000 tons.
