Ukrainian vector for clean energy sources development remains unchanged

As of last week, while speaking within the Adam Smith 9th Energy Forum (Ukrainian Energy Forum), Sergey Savchuk, Head of the Ukrainian State Agency on Energy Efficiency and Energy Saving, stressed that the Ukrainian vector for clean energy sources’ development remains unchanged, Government Portal reports.
As to the report, the Form participants examined the Ukrainian Government achievements within the gas consumption, boosting of the capacity of the renewable energy and discussed plans to create even better conditions for investors to work on the Ukrainian «green» projects.
As to the report, Savchuk noted that the Ukrainian legislative changes adopted within the past three years had a positive impact on the country renewable energy sources’ market: thus, EUR460 million was invested into the 2 GW output facility (producing non-gas heat); EUR400 million euros was invested into the 408 MW output new facility (renewable power); besides, another EUR52 million was attracted by the domestic private households in order to install solar power plants (with a total capacity of 51 MW).
«Thus, upon whole, there is about EUR900 million of investment into the clean energy!» he said.
Besides, he also admitted, the recent social researches suggest that the energy efficiency and clean energy professionals are becoming still more popular and highly paid within Ukraine.
A number of the implemented projects, current legislation, the implementation of the European directives into the national legislation, the recent accession of Ukraine to IRENA - all that means that the renewable energy is dynamically and successfully developing within Ukraine.
