Engie, the French multinational energy group, is ready to assist Ukraine within developing its gas and oil sector, Ukrinform says referring to the Ukrainian Gov press service report.
As to the report, this agreement was achieved within a today meeting of Ukrainian Prime Minister Volodymyr Groisman with Engie CEO Isabelle Kocher.
«The oil and gas sector was completely closed for a long time (for investors and partner companies). After changing the state policy and introducing new technological and innovative solutions, we managed to change the trend. And our task today is to turn Ukraine from an importing country to an energy independent country. To do this, we need to be more open, change the regulatory system, and attract investments and technology,» Groisman said.
As to the report, Groisman welcomed the Engie decision to assist Ukraine within developing its oil and gas sector, and agreed with Isabelle Kocher that ensuring the State own energy resources is the issue of energy security.
As to the report, the representatives of the French company confirmed their readiness to contribute to the development of the Ukrainian oil and gas sector.
