Anti-cholera campaign underway in South Sudan

Efforts to contain a cholera outbreak in South Sudan are being ramped up, UN Radio says referring to the World Health Organization (WHO) report.
As to the report, the world youngest nation has recorded more than 270 cases of the disease, including 14 deaths, since this year Jul 23.
Reportedly, together with the Ministry of Health, WHO and its partners this week have launched an oral cholera vaccination campaign to reach more than 14,000 people.
As to the report, the UN agency has also established a Cholera Treatment Centre in the capital, Juba, and is working to strengthen disease surveillance.
Cholera is an acute diarrhoeal disease which causes loss of body fluids.
It can be deadly if not adequately treated.
