The Ministry of Agrarian Policy and Food of Ukraine Announces the Completion of the Roadmap and Action Plans for the Green Recovery of Ukraine’s Food Industries

The Ministry of Agrarian Policy and Food of Ukraine, in partnership with UNIDO and with financial support from the Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development of Germany (BMZ), proudly presents the completion of the Roadmap and Action Plans for the green recovery and transformation of Ukraine’s food industries.

Developed in collaboration with UNIDO, these materials provide practical recommendations and analytical insights to enhance sustainability, resilience, and alignment with EU standards in Ukraine’s food sector. The Roadmap and Action Plans address key industries, including dairy, fruits and berries, honey, grain processing, poultry and egg products, vegetable oil, and sugar, as well as cross-cutting areas such as food quality and safety and packaging.

The Roadmap and Action Plans:

Present a clear vision for sustainable recovery;
Identify industry-specific opportunities and challenges;
Offer actionable steps to modernize and strengthen the resilience of Ukraine’s food industries.

«This initiative is a cornerstone for modernizing Ukraine’s food industries. Thanks to the invaluable support of UNIDO and BMZ, it provides us with the tools to transform challenges into opportunities, fostering a resilient and competitive sector,» said Vitalii Koval, Minister of Agrarian Policy and Food of Ukraine.

The project «Industrial capacity-building, policy advice, and diagnostics for the green recovery of Ukraine» is implemented by the United Nations Industrial Development Organization (UNIDO) with financial support from the Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development of Germany (BMZ). The project aims to provide technical support to the Government of Ukraine in developing and implementing a strategic approach to the green reconstruction and development of the country’s industry. This approach entails a coordinated, evidence-based, and result-oriented green recovery program for inclusive and sustainable industrial development, led and executed by the Government of Ukraine.

As part of the project, UNIDO is working to establish an enabling environment for the green recovery of the country’s industry, create jobs, enhance resilience, promote sustained economic growth, and strengthen the productivity and competitiveness of priority industrial sectors with high growth potential and investment attractiveness. By leveraging international expertise, best practices, and innovative solutions, including those from Germany, the project facilitates institutional partnership-building and peer learning.
