Ukrainian dairy market

As earlier, within this week Ukrainian domestic/export dairy products’ markets were characterized with lowing tendency mainly due to country raw milk high output (caused by seasonality factor) and global market current trends. Experts admit within this week Ukraine producers were successfully exporting their dairy products due to earlier concluded contracts — what, in fact, has appeared to be «the only salvation» for producers and prevented domestic market from being glutted by excessive dairy products. It is to be admitted, some dairy products were actively sold not only to non-CIS countries, but also to Crimea (butter, cheeses and whole milk products).
In meanwhile, within this week Ukrainian domestic market SMP prices ranged within UAH45–47 per kg (down 1.08% as of last week/up 1.52% as of last month similar); export market SMP prices have sagged to US$1,500–1,650 per MT (down 1.56% as of last week/down 17.38% as of last month similar). As of this week, Ukrainian domestic market SMP sales remained low due to offer growth (caused by seasonality factor). As earlier, within this week Ukrainian export market SMP sales remained high.
Within reporting week Ukrainian domestic market WMP prices have declined to UAH50–54 per kg (down 0.95% against previous week); export market WMP prices have sagged to US$2,300–2,500 per MT (down 3.03% against previous week). It is to be mentioned, within this week Ukrainian WMP output still remained low, but was gradually boosting up due to seasonality factor. Besides, Ukrainian domestic/export markets’ WMP sale rates have also grown due to seasonality factor.
Experts admit within reporting week Ukrainian domestic market block butter (72.5% fat, DSTU) prices were prevented from slackening thanks to export market active sales. However, at same time, domestic market prices were pressed down by domestic market butter offer growth (due to seasonality factor) and low demand. Thus, within this week Ukrainian domestic market block butter (72.5% fat, DSTU) prices ranged within UAH45,5–48,5 per kg (down 0.53% against previous week/up 3.87% as of last month similar); export market block butter (72.5% fat, DSTU) prices have declined to US$2,300–2,420 per MT (down 3.67% against previous week/down 17.01% against previous week).
This week Ukrainian domestic market cheese prices ranged within UAH68–76 per kg (unchanged as of previous week/up 12.50% as of previous month similar); export market prices were US$3,400–4,000 per MT (same as within previous week/down 9.20% against last month similar). Within reporting week Ukrainian domestic/export markets’ cheese declined to remained same as within previous week. As earlier, within this week Ukrainian producers faced strong competition from EU countries on global market.
Within this week Ukrainian domestic market casein prices were UAH119–124 per kg (down 0.41% against previous week/up 13.02% against last month similar); export market prices have declined to US$4,900–5,000 per MT (down 4.81% against previous week/down 16.46% as of previous month similar). As of this week, Ukrainian domestic/export markets’ casein offer has grown; however, at same time, Ukrainian domestic/export markets’ casein purchasers’ activity has slackened.
Within reporting week Ukrainian domestic market demineralized whey prices have sagged to UAH12,50–13,00 per kg (down 3.77% against previous week/down 2.93% against last month similar); export market prices have lowed to US$465–530 per MT (down 6.13% as of last week/down 28.42% as of previous month similar). In meanwhile, this week Ukrainian domestic market classic whey prices have slumped to UAH10,00–10,50 per kg (down 13.50% against previous week/down 8.69% against last month similar); export market prices have declined to US$400–440 per MT (down 5.62% against previous week /down 29.26% as of last month similar). As earlier, within this week Ukrainian domestic/export markets’ whey prices remained pressed by domestic market very slack demand and traders’ low purchases. It is to be admitted, Belarus domestic market whey prices’ growth has activated some prospects for Ukrainian producers to make successful export sales — but, despite of that, within this week Ukrainian export market whey prices have demonstrated so far only declining tendency.
