In meanwhile, within this week Ukrainian domestic/export markets’ SMP, cheese and whey prices have declined due to demand  slackening caused by long holidays’ period.

Within this week Ukrainian home market SMP prices have declined to UAH24–29 per kg (down 3.6% against previous week), while export market prices have lowered to US$2,500–2,800 per MT (maximum price down US$200 per MT against previous week). It is to be admitted, those Ukrainian companies which had been exporting SMP to RF at maximum export price US$3,000 per MT, have succeeded to make export sales only at US$2,800 per MT within this week.

As of this week, Ukrainian home market block butter (72,5%, DSTU) prices ranged withinUAH37–39 per kg (unchanged against previous week), export market — US$3,400–3,900 per MT (same as within last week). This week Ukrainian butter output remained very low.

Within reporting week Ukrainian internal/foreign markets’ WMP demand remained low; so this week WMP prices remained unchanged as of last week: internal market — UAH36–37 per kg, foreign market — US$3,500–3,600 per MT. There were no domestic/export WMP sales within this week.

As of this week, Ukrainian home market casein prices ranged within UAH74–79 per kg; export prices have dipped to US$8,100–8,400  per MT, down 1.2% as of last week.

Within this week Ukrainian export casein demand remained slack. Country casein output remained low (producers’ unsold casein reserves were also low).

In meanwhile, RF ban on Ukrainian cheeses’ import has finally made its effect: within this week Ukrainian cheese producers have started declining domestic/export markets’ cheese sale prices as they couldn’t retain prices unchanged any more. Thus, within this week Ukrainian domestic market cheese prices have dropped to UAH59–54 per kg, down 0.96% against previous week (export market — to US$5,500–5,900 per MT, down 0.87% as of last week). As of this week, producers’ unsold cheese reserves continued growing up. So now producers can hope only on RF authorities to cancel import ban after Rospotrebnadzor experts make inspections of Ukrainian cheese producers (named above) within this year end Mar.

Within reporting week Ukrainian home/export markets’ whey prices have declined: thus, domestic market demineralized whey prices have lowered to UAH10,9–11,4 per kg, down 2.2% against previous week (export prices have sagged to US$1,110–1,140 per MT); domestic market classic whey prices have dipped to UAH10,5–10,8 per kg, down  1.4% against previous week, while export prices have dropped to US$1,020–1,100 per MT, down 2.3% as of last week.

As of this week, producers’ unsold whey reserves remained low (home/export markets’ whey demand continued slackening). It is to be admitted, within this week Ukrainian home/export markets’ whey prices were going down mainly due to export market demand slackening (caused by global market prices’ drop).

As to Ukrainian Ministry of Agrarian Policy and Food press service report, as of this year Mar 12, Ukrainian domestic market 1 grade raw milk average purchase price equaled to UAH3,538 per MT, down UAH59 per MT against this year Mar 2 (UAH3,597 per MT).
