UKRAINIAN GRAINS MARKET

AGRO PERSPECTIVE «Ukrainian Grain & Oilseed Market » October 28, 2011

Yesterday trades raised their purchase prices for wheat and corn but farmers don’t to sell yet their products. Wheat market is very slow because farmers are not satisfied with prices for this product today. Some of them said that will not sell wheat till New Year. Corn continues to be the most trade grain due too record crop and active import demand. Barley market is almost dead. It’s too hard to find «free» barley on market as almost all volume was purchased in September.

Export prices of grains grew up a bit. Nowadays most of traders are shipping only corn. Ukrainian wheat came back to world trade after winning tender in Jordan but it couldn’t beat Russian wheat on tender in Egypt. Import demand for barley is not high so trade is very slow.
