As to State Statistics Committee data, Ukrainian Apr 2011 whey powder import has climbed to 177,550 MT, up 20.3% against Mar 2011. In Apr 2011, Ukraine imported whey mainly from Czech Republic (80,000 MT).
As to Committee, Ukrainian Apr 2011 whey powder export has dropped to 737,010 MT, down 50.5% against Mar 2011.
Within 2010, Ukrainian raw milk output remained profitable against 2009; in 2010, Ukrainian raw milk output profitability has significantly grown, to 17.7% (up against 1.4% in 2009). Besides, Ukrainian 2010 raw milk average sale price has boosted to UAH2,938.7 per MT (up 55.6% against 2009).
In 2010, subsidies’ payments at cost of VAT means to producers for their raw milk/dairy products sales to processors have boosted by 80% against 2009 to UAH747.8 mn (State budget subsidies, however, dropped by 82% down to UAH2.7 mn).
As to Committee, within Jan-May 2011 Ukrainian canned milk output has declined by 6% against 2010 similar. Our country canned milk output has been dominated by decline tendency for few years already: thus, in 2010 Ukraine produced 245 mn canned milk conditional cans (2009 264 mn; 2008 290 mn). It is to be admitted, within 20082010 Ukraine exported yearly up to 50% of its canned milk to post-soviet republics’ markets.
It is to be mentioned, within last 5 years Ukrainian domestic/export canned milk markets’ capacity average yearly growth was 6.5% (in physical terms) and 20.3% (in money terms).
Within reporting week Ukrainian domestic market SMP prices have grown to UAH2730,5 per kg, up 10.4% against previous week; however, this week domestic market SMP sale rates remained insignificant.
Within this week SMP export prices (for non-CIS countries) have risen to S$2,9503,100 per MT, up 1.8% as of previous week US$2,9203,120 per MT; CIS countries’ export prices ranged within S$3,1503,200 per MT.
Within reporting week domestic market casein prices ranged within UAH77,878,9 per kg. However, this week casein export prices remained unchanged US$9,2009,300 per MT.
As of this week, domestic market cheese prices have declined to UAH43,547 per kg, down 3.8% against last week. Within this week Ukrainian companies exported cheese just in small lots; cheese export prices ranged within US$4,9505,400 per MT.
Within reporting week domestic market butter prices remained stable UAH4143 per kg; this week butter export prices ranged within US$3,8004,000 per MT. As of this week, butter was exported just in small lots.
Within this week WMP export market prices remained US$3,4003,600 per MT,
unchanged against previous week; however, this week WMP domestic market prices have grown to UAH3436 per kg, up 4.5% against last week.
