As to State Statistics Committee data, Ukrainian Feb 2011 raw milk import has boosted to 71 MT, up 92% against Jan 2011 (37 MT) and up 3,7 times as of Feb 2010.

As to Committee, Ukrainian Jan-Feb 2011 raw milk gross output totaled 1,153.100 MT (down 1.1% against Jan-Feb 2010).
Ukrainian Feb 2011 raw milk export has declined to 816 MT, down 36% against Jan 2011 (it is to be admitted, within Feb 2011 Kazakhstan was Ukrainian raw milk biggest foreign purchaser 424 MT; Azerbaijan was second biggest 199 MT).
In meanwhile, Ukrainian Ministry of Agrarian Policy and Food has proposed to permit to Ukrainian processors to use in industrial processing only that raw milk which is cooled down to 6°Ñ not later than 2 hours after milking and shipped to processors in containers which assure raw milk storage by temperature 10°Ñ and down.
These regulations are included in Cabinet-elaborated draft Decree “About Adoption of Technical Regulations “Requirements to Milk and Dairy Products,” published last week Fri on Ministry of Agrarian Policy and Food website.
Draft Decree explanatory note says draft Decree adoption will prompt Ukrainian dairy products’ quality improvement and removal of technical barriers to Ukraine/EU trade. It is to be admitted, presently efficient Ukrainian raw milk technical regulations also contain a number of requirements to raw milk temperature.
As to State Statistics Committee data, Ukrainian Feb 2011 milk and dairy products’ consumer prices index was 99.8% against Jan 2011; it is to be admitted, Ukrainian Feb 2011milk and dairy products’ consumer prices index has also declined by 0.1% against Dec 2010 (down to 99.7%).
In meanwhile, within reporting week Ukrainian domestic market SMP offer fluctuated within UAH2527 per kg, down against previous week UAH2728 per kg, while SMP export prices (for non-CIS countries) ranged within US$2,7502,950 per MT, down 10% as of last week US$3,1003,200 per MT.
Within this week domestic market WMP prices were UAH34,535,5 per kg; WMP export prices fluctuated within US$3,6303,670 per MT.
Within reporting week domestic market cheese prices ranged within UAH4350 per kg. As of this week, Ukrainian companies exported cheese in just small lots with export prices fluctuating within US$5,6005,900 per MT.
As of this week, Ukrainian home market casein situation has changed against previous week: thus, this week domestic market casein prices have declined to UAH7374 per kg, down 1.3% as of last week UAH7475 per kg.
Within reporting week home market casein sale rates remained very low.
As of this week, casein export sale rates have slackened against previous week. This week casein export prices ranged within US$8,5009,100 per MT, down 5.4% as of last week.
