AGRO PERSPECTIVE «AGRO+ MILK UKRAINE #55 February 24, 2011.
With its Decree ¹ 17 (from Feb 10/11), Ukrainian Ministry of Agrarian Policy and Food has established minimal and maximal intervention prices for State prices regulation objects within MY 2011-2012.
As to Decree, milk powder minimal and maximal intervention prices have been fixed correspondingly UAH35,000 per MT and UAH40,000 per MT (butter UAH40,000 per MT and UAH50,000 per MT).
In meanwhile, Ukrainian domestic raw milk purchase prices remain unchanged for over 1 month already. It is to be admitted, this year Feb raw milk purchase prices are same as of last year Feb (UAH3,30 per kg for agricultural companies/UAH2,30 per kg for population individual economies).
As of this year Feb 22, agricultural companies’ raw milk purchase price was UAH3,30 per kg (population individual economies UAH2,30 per kg).
MILK POWDER
Within reporting week domestic market milk powder offer was up against demand, resulting in SMP prices having declined to UAH2426 per kg, down against last week UAH2628 per kg.
As of this week, SMP export price equaled to US$3,200 per MT (for non-CIS countries), US$3,300 per MT (for Turkmenistan, Tajikistan and Kazakhstan) and US$3,800 per MT (for RF).
Within this week domestic market WMP prices remained UAH3435 per kg, unchanged against previous week; WMP export price equaled to US$3,850 per MT.
BUTTER
Within reporting week butter 72.5% fat domestic market prices have fallen to UAH3638 per kg (down against last week UAH3840 per kg) due to rather high offer.
As of this week, butter export price equaled to US$4,200 per MT.
CHEESES
Within reporting week domestic cheese market remained stable, with domestic/export markets’ sale rates being rather high.
As of this week, cheeses 50% fat domestic market offer prices remained UAH4248 per kg (unchanged against last week). It is to be admitted, there were rather large spreads between prices of same kind of cheese depending on producers, regions, unsold cheese amounts remained on warehouses and cheese quality.
As of this week, cheeses 50% fat export prices ranged within US$5,5005,800 per MT.
WHEY
Within this week domestic market whey sale prices have stopped growing and started declining: thus, prices have declined to UAH8,08,2 per kg (down against last week UAH8,28,5 per kg).
As of this week, whey export price equaled to US$900 per MT.
Within this week domestic market demineralized whey prices have sagged to UAH8,89,8 per kg (down against last week UAH9,510,0 per kg); demineralized whey export prices ranged within US$1,0001,050 per MT.
CASEIN
Within reporting week Ukrainian domestic casein reserves remained, as earlier, almost exhausted; domestic casein trade was carried out in just small lots.
As of this week, domestic market casein prices ranged within UAH7073 per kg.
There was no casein export within this week. As of this week, casein export offer prices fluctuated within US$9,0009,200 per MT.
