«Antimonopoly Committee expects other big dairy products’ producers will also demonstrate adequate reaction to Committee demands. It is to be reminded, within previous week Ukrainian Antimonopoly Committee had obliged Ukrainian dairy producers Milkiland-Ukraine, Subsidiary; Managing Company Terra Food Ltd; OJSC Dairy Alliance Ltd; Unimilk Ltd; Danone Ltd; OJSC Wimm-Bill-Dann Ukraine; Corporation Klub Syra; CJSC Galychyna; OJSC Shostkynskiy City Dairy Plant; PO Molis Ltd and CJSC Lactalis-Myckolayiv to assure within this year Nov gradual declining of milk, sour cream, butter and hard cheese wholesale prices.
Within reporting week Ukrainian dairy market situation remained same as within previous week. All dairy products’ sale prices weekly fall and demand/sale rates constant slackening have resulted in total dairy market trade suspension. Market operators explain market current situation with fact that Ukrainian weather conditions remain so far favorable for raw milk output, that is, dairy processors are sufficiently provided with rather cheap raw milk resources. However, market operators say situation will radically change as soon as air temperature will fall to 0 °C then in a couple of weeks dairy products’ market sale prices will stop lowering and begin growing; reverse process will start.

As earlier, within reporting week domestic market butter prices continued declining.
As to traders/producers data, within this week butter 72.5% fat domestic market prices have sagged to UAH3940 per kg (down against last week UAH4042 per kg). Prices’ sagging was motivated with slackening of consumer demand for expensive butter, market operators’ butter high reserves and fact that dairy plants needed circulating assets for raw milk further purchases.
Due to all above factors, Ukrainian butter export has become unattractive: taking into account domestic market prices, butter 72.5% fat average export price should have already risen to US$5,000 per MT. However, it is simply senseless to sell butter at this price.
