Ukrainian Grain Market

AGRO PERSPECTIVE «Ukrainian Grain & Oilseed Market » November 12-18, 2010`45`(299)

Within reporting week grains market trade activity remained zero low. Food wheat market segment didn’t undergo any significant changes as traders didn’t make any purchases due to grains export unclear prospects. All exporters have decided to withhold their grains reserves until export limitation is cancelled (that is, at least until end 2010).
As of this week, feed wheat market segment situation also remained unchanged against previous week. Experts admit within this week feed wheat was purchased mainly by mixed feeds plants; as to experts, in near future feed wheat prices will remain high with possible tendency towards growth.
Export-oriented companies weren’t interested in feed barley within this week; moreover, exporters have already accumulated feed barley reserves significantly up against feed barley export quota size, so they are going to withhold them until grains export quoting regime ending.
As of this week, feed maize prices also remained high due to slack offer as maize owners didn’t want to sell maize at prices significantly undercut against potentially possible ones. Feed maize market segment stability has been supported also by fact that exporters (which had been playing key role in prices formation) have already left this market segment within this week. Under low competition condition, most processors have succeeded to retain their feed maize purchase prices unchanged against previous week.

Besides, flour millers warehouses food wheat reserves are gradually getting exhausted, resulting in flour millers work getting still more difficult, — so they are obliged to constantly replenish their resources in order to assure uninterrupted ready products output.
