22.06.2018 17:18 "Agro Perspectiva" (Kyiv) —
As of this week, while speaking within a «Batsman» program at the «112 Ukraine» TV Channel,
Ukrainian Minister of Ecology and Natural Resources Ostap Semerak has said the Energy Strategy, approved by the Government, stipulates that by 2035 the share of the Ukrainian energy renewable sources will be 11%, Government Portal reports.
«The new Energy Strategy, approved by the Government, sets the task to raise the share of the Ukrainian renewable energy sources to 11% of the country total energy output within 2035. As of now, however, this share is just 12%,» Semerak stressed.
As to the report, Semerak noted that this task implies decarbonization of the Ukrainian economy and, in particular, the difficult aim of reducing of the use of fossil hydrocarbons.
«This means a gradual refusal upon the coal and a boost of the investments into the solar and wind power plants. Those who invest into energy and have big capitals there, they have already now started investing also into the renewable energy - since, in fact, the renewable energy is a profitable one,» Semerak said.
«The task before us is a very ambitious one. Serious steps are to be taken,» Semerak summed up.
