AgriLab to open soil quality/agricultural products analysis laboratory

The Ukrainian agricultural consulting company AgriLab is going to open a laboratory for the analysis and assessment of soil and agricultural products quality up to the international standards within the Kyiv region by yearend, Interfax-Ukraine says referring to AgriLab CEO, official representative of the International Organization for Precision Agriculture (ISPA) within Ukraine, Yaroslav Boiko, report.
«The laboratory productivity within its first working year will be over 200 soil samples per day (for a wide range of indicators, incl. 1520 key quality indicators). Then, within a few years, the laboratory productivity will have grown to 1,000 samples per day wjeat means over 3 million ha of detailed soil quality survey per year,» Boiko admitted.
As to him, investments into the main equipment of the technological line of the laboratory are estimated over US$2 million. The laboratory area exceeds 2,000 square meters.
As to Boiko, as for the implementation of innovations, Ukrainian agricultural companies lag far behind their European and American counterparts. As to him, within Ukraine, the process of introducing of the precision farming is only beginning to gain momentum.
