Ukrainian Mar sugar export up 15%

Ukrainian this year Mar sugar export has grown to 47,200 tons, up 15% against this year Feb, Ruslana Butylo, Head of Analytical Department of Ukrainian National Association of Sugar Producers Ukrsugar, reports.
As to Butylo, the sugar was exported mainly to the former USSR countries and African countries.
«50% of all this year Mar export shipments were directed to Uzbekistan (23,500 tons); besides, as earlier, sugar was shipped to Turkey (7,900 tons), Somalia (3,700 tons), Tajikistan (2,900 tons), Benin (1,800 tons) and other countries (7,300 tons),» she said.
As to Butylo, Ukrainian 2017/18 MY (marketing year) Sept-Mar sugar export totals 338,100 tons.
It is to be reminded, Ukrainian 2017/18 MY (marketing year) sugar output has grown to 2.14 million tons, up 6.5% against 2016/17 MY. Within 2017/18 MY, 46 sugar plants were working within Ukraine.
It is to be admitted, the Association experts forecast that Ukrainian 2018 sugar beet sown areas will total 285,000 ha.
