Ukraine, Vietnam discussed plant origin goods mutual trade deepening

As of this week, Volodymyr Lapa, Head of Ukrainian State Service for Foods Safety and Consumer Protection, has had a meeting within the Vietnam corresponding authorities’ representatives,
Ukrainian State Service for Foods Safety and Consumer Protection reports.
As to the report, within the meeting, the ways to deepen mutual trade between the two countries were discussed. Thus, in part., the prospects of exporting Ukrainian wheat to Vietnam and the lifting of the temporary ban on the import of Ukrainian wheat to Vietnam.
It is to be admitted, the meeting took place within the framework of the visit of the Vietnamese delegation to Ukraine to get acquainted with the phytosanitary procedures that are to be carried out on the Ukrainian territory in case of wheat export.
As to the report, the meeting was also attended by the representatives of the Embassy of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam within Ukraine, and Director of the Department of Phytosanitary Security, Seed and Planting Control of the Ukrainian State Service for Foods Safety and Consumer Protection, Andriy Chelombitco.
Reportedly, the meeting participants discussed the requirements and principles of the Ukrainian legislation on the phytosanitary control and plants’ quarantine.
As to the report, within the meeting Chelombitko informed the guests about the structure of the Ukrainian State Service for Foods Safety and Consumer Protection and its work within Ukraine.
As to the report, the parties analyzed the requirements and mechanism of phytosanitary certification of Ukrainian goods, the volumes of Ukrainian grains/oilseeds’ export, the requirements for fumigation of grains within Ukraine, as well as some other issues.
