Gov transferred permanent use lands (0.5 million ha) into agrarians ownership
05.04.2018 22:56 "Agro Perspectiva" (Kyiv) —
On its yesterday meeting, the Cabinet approved and sent to the Verkhovna Rada a bill that transfers agricultural lands (which had been earlier allocated for the permanent use) to the Ukrainian agrarians and their descendants. It goes about transferring of about 0.5 million ha within all Ukrainian regions into the ownership of 25,000 agrarians, Government Portal reports.
It is to be admitted, the lands for farm economies’ management were being transferred to the agrarians by the Government still within the 1990ies on the right of life inherited possession and permanent use. However, later on, as a result of amendments to the Ukrainian legislation, it became impossible to fix these lands as ownership and transfer them into inheritance what in turn has created legal problems for a large number of agrarians.
«By adopting this bill, we make a decisive step towards restoring of the social justice, and we propose to transfer the lands (which had been received by the agrarians into their permanent use still within 1990-ies) to the agrarians or their heirs into the ownership. This bill has been completely agreed upon with the Ukrainian Association of Farmers and Private Landowners. I hope that the Ukrainian Parliament will also support this bill,» Ukrainian First Deputy Minister of Agricultural Policy and Food Maxym Martyniuk said.
