PM expects situation at Ukrainian customs to be drastically changed within a year

As of today, while opening a Government meeting, the Ukrainian Prime Minister Volodymyr Groisman has said he expects that within the framework of the Ukrainian customs office reform supported by the USA, the situation at the Ukrainian customs will be drastically changed within a year, Government Portal reports.
As to the report, Groisman has reminded that following his visit to the United States he received US support in reforming of the Ukrainian customs service. As a result of the agreements, 11 experts of customs and border services of the U.S. had been working in Ukraine for two weeks. The experts arrived to Kyiv to determine the needs for reforming the Ukrainian customs and reform preparations.
Thus, the US Mission experts presented a short summary report, focused on the need for fundamental changes at the Ukrainian customs.
«Our understanding [jointly with American partners] is in complete accord and we will put things in order at the Ukrainian customs. I think that the situation will be dramatically changed within a year,» Groisman emphasized.
As to Groisman, the Ukrainian customs system requires immediate transformation and changes.
As to the report, Groisman informed that a report of the Mission would be presented within 30 days. It will contain all the necessary recommendations for tackling corruption in the customs system, the transformation of customs into high-quality service for legitimate business and removal of any abuse during customs clearance of goods.
