Ukraine to increase vodka price soon

The Cabinet of Ministers supported the proposal of the Finance Ministry to increase the minimum retail price for vodka, agrarian policy minister Mykola Prysyazhnyuk told a briefing, ForUm correspondent reports.
«The government has supported the Finance Ministrys proposal to raise the minimum retail price for alcohol. On the one hand, if we add the prime cost, we need to understand what minimum prices we have. In addition, after the price increase, the volume may be reduced, because a consumer will not immediately get used to the price increase,» Prisyazhnyuk said.
According to him, the suggestions and comments of the Agrarian Policy Ministry were taken.
But, according to the minister, the government has not increased the price for wine and brandy that should balance the beverage industry.
