Yushchenko commissioned to assure State food security through grains market regulation perfection

As to President Decree ¹ 890/2007 (from Sept 18, 2007), President Viktor Yushchenko has determined Ukrainian grains market regulation perfection as one of priorities for State food security. As to Decree, Yushchenko has commissioned Cabinet to liberalize grains market, establish clear motivations for grains export limitation introduction and assure efficient State influence upon domestic market conjuncture/State food security guaranty. Besides, President has charged Cabinet to elaborate a number of draft Decrees targeted at grains market further perfection as well as assure development/approving of Ukrainian 2008/15 Grain Program (with market participants being attracted to program development). As to Agro Perspective earlier report, country agrarians had harvested (as of Sept 14) 23.742 mn MT grains/leguminous (maize excl.). As to Agro Perspective, experts affirm Ukrainian 2007 grains crop may decline to 28-30 mn MT, down against 43.3 mn MT in 2006. 2006 grains crop totaled 34.3 mn MT, down as of 38.015 mn MT in 2005.
