Kharkiv region farmers keep grain because purchase prices for 3rd grade wheat are too low – UAH 930 per ton, press service of the Kharkiv regional state administration quotes head of the regional agrarian department Mykhailo Zhornyk. “Wheat prices advance in the world market,” Zhornyk told. According to him, today 3rd grade wheat costs USD 220 in the world market. As to Agro Perspectiva, the Agrarian Ministry informs that the Agrarian Fund bought 3rd grade wheat at UAH 983 per ton as of July 20. Ministry of Agrarian Policy has raised 2007/08 MY grains minimal/maximal purchase prices. Particularly, price of the 3rd grade soft wheat has risen from UAH 750 to UAH 875 per ton, whereas 3rd grade hard wheat from UAH 850 to UAH 950 per ton.
