Singapore puts complete ban on sugary drinks advertizing

As of last week, the Singaporean Health Ministry placed a ban on advertizing of the sugar-containing beverages and forced the introduction of special labels for medium- and high-sugar beverages, in order to combat diabetes, Ukrainian National Association of Sugar Producers says referring to the Business Insider Singapore report.
Thus, Singapore will be the first country ever to ban any sugar-based beverage (SSB) advertising, be it online television, news portals, newspapers, radios or billboards.
As to the report, the Sngapore government is considering initiatives to introduce excise duty and even a complete ban on sugary drinks.
In meanwhile, details on when the new rules will be introduced will become available since 2020.
