Germany bans glyphosate usage until 2024

As of this year Sept 4, the German Cabinet adopted a new agricultural package of agrarian programs and amendments; alongside with them, the glyphosate usage was decided to be banned, Ukrainian National Association of Sugar Producers says referring to the agrarheute.com report.
«It is planned to ban the use of glyphosate-containing pesticides in Germany until Dec 31, 2023,» German Agriculture Minister Julia Klekner has admitted.
As to the report, since 2020, Germany will reduce by 75% the use of plant protection products containing glyphosate.
As to the report, the German Cabinet also banned the use of any plant protection products that have a negative impact on insects w the domestic national parks and reserves.
Meanwhile, the German Association of Agriculture Industry (IVA) has criticized the adopted ban on the use of glyphosate. Thus, IVA Chief Executive Dr. Dietrich Pradt said the loss of glyphosate would reduce the competitiveness of German farmers.
