Belarus limited Khemlnytskiy region pork import due to ASF

As of this week, Belarus authorities have limited shipments of the pork produced within Khemlnytskiy region (Ukraine) due to the ASF (African Swine Fever) outbreaks, BelTA says referring to the Belarus Department for Veterinary and Foods Control report.
As to the report, as to the International Epizootic Bureau, an ASF case has been registered within Khmelnytskiy region.
As to the report, due to the ASF, the Belarus authorities have introduced, since this year May 18, temporary restrictions on the import from Khemlnytskiy region of live pigs, zoo and circus animals of susceptible species, pork (including wild boar meat) and other pork-based food resources.
Reportedly, all previously issued permits for the import of the abovementioned goods from the Khmelnytskiy region to Belarus have been canceled. Besides, the Belarus Department for Veterinary and Foods Control admits it is necessary to take additional control measures to ensure the biological protection of the Belarus domestic pig breeding farms of all property forms.
