Ukraine, Iran for agricultural sector active cooperation

As of this week, Ukrainian Acting Agrarian Policy and Food Minister Olga Trofimtseva has had a meeting with the newly appointed Ambassador of the Islamic Republic of Iran to Ukraine Mr. Manouchehr Moradi, Ukrinform says referring to the Ministry report.
As to the report, within the meeting, Trofimtseva has said Ukraine and Iran are interested within the agricultural sector cooperation. As of now, the Iranian side is considering three cooperation draft memorandums.
«Ukraine and Iran are interested in active cooperation within the agricultural sector. The Iranian side is now considering three draft memorandums of the agricultural sector cooperation, in particular, the memorandum of understanding between the Ukrainian Ministry of Agrarian Policy and Food and the Ministry of Agriculture Jihad of the Islamic Republic of Iran within the agricultural sector and two draft documents of cooperation on veterinary and phytosanitary matters,» Trofimtseva noted.
Reportedly, for his part, the Iranian Ambassador expressed his interest in developing of the cooperation between the countries, in particular within the deepening of the agricultural cooperation, and assured of his assistance.
It is to be reminded, as of 2018, Ukrainian agricultural products/foods export to Iran amounted to US$421 million, while the total goods’ trade between the countries was US$ 437.5 million.
