Ukraine, Canada discuss Canadian market opening prospects

As of this week, Chairman of the State Committee for Consumer Goods and Consumer Protection Volodymyr Lapi has met with the regional representative of the Canadian Food Control Agency and Canadian Embassy staff within Ukraine, Ukrainian Ministry of Agrarian Policy and Food reports.
As to the report, the meeting participants discussed the possibility of the Ukrainian export advanicng to the Canadian market.
It is to be admitted, the meeeting was also participated by Ukrainian State Committee for Consumer Goods and Consumer Protection, the First Deputy Chairman Andriy Zhuk and Head of the Department of International Management Olga Shevchenko.
Within the meeting, the sides discussed the results of the this year Feb work of the inspectors mission of the Canadian competent authority focused on the Ukrainian beekeeping control evaluation. Canadian colleagues have told that the final audit report can be expected within two months.
Besides, the export of other Ukrainian products to the Canadian market was discussed. For that, within this year May, a mission of the competent Canadian authority will arrive within Ukraine to carry out an audit of the domestic system of state control.
As to the report, the Canadian colleagues also expressed their interest in importing of the Ukrainian eggs, meat products, apples, etc.
Reportedly, the meeting agreed to maintain contacts at the level of the competent authorities and agreed on further steps to implement their bilateral cooperation plans.
