Ukrainian this year sowing campaign started a month earlier
06.03.2019 22:06 "Agro Perspectiva" (Kyiv) —
As of this week, while speaking within a round table discussion «Agrarian prospects for the 2019 season: high margin plants,» Ukrainian Deputy Minister of Agrarian Policy and Food Volodymyr Topchiy has said this year, thanks to favorable weather conditions, the country sowing campaign started one month earlier against last year, Ukrinform says referring to Ukrainian Ministry of Agrarian Policy and Food report.
As to Topchiv, as of this year Mar 5, the Ukrainian agrarians have already sown their early spring grains/leguminous plants at 32,000 ha.
«Thanks to favorable weather conditions, we had got an opportunity to start the agrarian season since the first days of Mar. So, as of this year Mar 5, 32,000 ha have already been sown upon. It is to be admitted, early field works, early vegetation recovery, give us good expectations and prospects for the current agrarian year,» he emphasized.
As to Topchiy, now the agrarians also continue their winter crops’ fertilizing; thus, as of this year Mar 5, the agrarians have already fertilized their winter crops at about 4 million ha (5354% of total winter crops sown areas).
