Ukraine, Turkey agreed on agricultural cooperation main directions

04.12.2018 23:17 "Agro Perspectiva" (Kyiv) — As of today, a meeting between Head of the Ministry of Agriculture and Forestry of the Turkish Republic Bekir Pakedumerli and First Deputy Minister of Agrarian Policy and Food of Ukraine Maxym Martyniuk has taken place as a part of the Ukrainian-Turkish Agro-Business Forum, Ukrainian Ministry of Agrarian Policy and Food reports. As to the report, within the meeting, the parties have discussed the main directions of the agricultural cooperation for the next year. «Both Turkey and Ukraine are developed agricultural countries. Sometimes we are rivals, but much more often we are partners. We see great opportunities for deepening the cooperation within the agro-industrial complex. It is to be admitted, the agreement on the Free Trade Zone, whose main parameters are within the final agreement, will help to transfer our trade relations unto a qualitatively new level,» Martyniuk has said. As to Martyniuk, the both countries’ agricultural cooperation priorities include the bilateral agricultural trade rates’ boost and agricultural products’ structure diversification. As to him, presently such Ukrainian agricultural products as animal products, grains, flour, honey, margarine products, sugar and confectionery products have the highest prospects for their export shipments’ growth to Turkey.
