Within the next MY (marketing year), the CIS countries’ sugar total output will decline by 6% against the current season, Ukrinform says referring to Maryna Sidak, Sucden (a French big sugar producer) Analytical Service Head, report made within a recent conference on the sugar trade and export.
«Ukraine within the 2018/2019 MY (marketing year, Sept through Aug) could reduce sugar output by 5.5% and boost its exports by 13%, as to the Ukrainian National Sugar Producers Association Ukrtsukor. It is to be admitted, within the 2018/2019 MY, Ukraine and Russia will see a decline of their sugar output - by 5.5% and 11%, respectively, but Belarus is expected to see 13% growth. At the same time, sugar export from Ukraine and Russia will improve by 13% and 7%, respectively, while Belarus will see a slight decline- by 5%. In addition, tough competition for the sales markets will continue,» Sidak explained.
As to her, due to the Ukrainian negative demographic situation, there will be a decline of the Ukrainian domestic sugar consumption.
As to her, within 2017/2018 MY, Ukraine became the main sugar shipper to Turkmenistan.
