As of today, while speaking within the International Forum of Agrarian Innovations (held for second already within Ternopil region), Ukrainian Deputy Minister of Agrarian Policy and Food Viktor Sheremeta has said now all preconditions for the development of agricultural cooperation had been created within Ukraine, Ukrinform reports.
This thesis was voiced in a conversation with the Ukrinform correspondent by the Ukrainian Deputy Minister of Agrarian Policy and Food Viktor Sheremeta during the International Forum of Agrarian Innovations, which is the second day in the Ternopil region.
«As of now, the legal base has been formed, there is a budgetary support of agricultural cooperatives, there is also information and consulting support of the agricultural cooperatives’ activity, and, besides, financial resources of the international technical assistance are actively attracted. However, at same time, it is still necessary to improve the taxation process of the agricultural cooperatives in order to stimulate their economic activity,» Sheremeta adimtted.
Besides, while commenting on the Ukrainian draft law on agricultural cooperation, Sheremeta noted that «today many are eager to substitute the agricultural cooperatives completely with the agricultural societies but that would mean that the very sense of the agricultural cooperation is lost,» Sheremeta said.
As to the report, Sheremeta also admitted that now there are 1,125 agricultural cooperatives registered within Ukraine, but only half of them is really working.
