1 half year sugar sale price up 38.3%, to UAH2,986 per MT

As to State Statistics Committee, within 2006 first half Ukrainian agricultural companies of all kinds ownership (except small-scale ones) were selling sugar at average price UAH2,986.4 per MT, up UAH827,2 per MT (+ 38.3%) against 2005 first half. As to Committee, companies were giving sugar to population (incl. public catering system) at UAH2,698.8 per MT on account of salaries and to shareholders at UAH2,799.0 per MT on account of land plots/property shares rental payment. Companies sold sugar on markets and in shops (stalls, booths, etc) at UAH2,896.7 per MT; sugar was sold at UAH3,011.1 per MT through other trade channels. As earlier reported, within 1 half year 2005 agricultural companies were selling sugar at average UAH2,159.2 per MT. Within 2006 first half Ukrainian agricultural companies of all kinds ownership (except small-scale ones) have boomed sugar sales to 152,409 MT, up 37,401 MT (+ 32.5%) against 2005 first half. Jun 2006 sugar sale prices have grown to UAH4,174,52 per kg, up 0.21.9% against May 2006 on 14 regions markets; Jun 2006 sugar retail sale prices have risen to UAH4,454,48 per kg, up 0.22.2% as of May 2006 in 15 regions shops.
