174 towns, villages face blackouts within 10 Ukrainian regions due to bad weather

As of this year Mar 1, severe weather conditions have left 174 populated areas within 10 Ukrainian regions without electricity, Ukrinform says referring to the Ukrainian State Emergency Service report.
«Bad weather conditions (snow, wind gusts) caused blackouts within 174 populated areas in ten regions of Ukraine, particularly: 42 populated areas - within Donetsk region ( 23 - Cherkasy region; 23 - Mykolaiv region; 20 - Odesa region; 16 - Dnipropetrovsk region; 15 - Kharkiv region; 13 - within Kherson region; 9 - Zaporizhzhia region; 8 - Sumy region; 5 - Kyiv region),» the report reads.
As to the report, in order to ensure the clearing of roads and cities from snow, the entrance of large-sized vehicles to Kyiv, Dnipro, Zaporizhzhia, Kropyvnytsky, Kremenchuh, Mykolaiv, Odesa, Kherson (and on certain parts of the roads of Zaporizhzhia, Odesa, Mykolaiv and Kyiv regions) has been restricted.
In meanwhile, the Ukrainian airports operate within a normal mode; the situation is under the Ukrainian State Emergency Service control.
