Ukraine examines Austrian breeding cattle import possibility

As of today, Volodymyr Lapa, Chairman of the Ukrainian State Committee for Consumer Goods and Protection, had a meeting with therepresentatives of the Austrian Bovine Cattle Association, Government Portal reports.
As to the report, the meeting participants have discussed with the representatives of the Austrian Bovine Cattle Association the possibility of importof the pedigree cattle from Austria in order to develop Ukrainian genetics and boost the productivity of the Ukrainian herd and breeding cattle.
The meeting participants have also analyzed the Ukrainian legislation within the sphere of veterinary medicine (in part. , requirements for the import of live animals).
As to the report, the meeting participants have discussed the possibility of exchanging experience between Ukraine and Austria within cattle breeding and sheep/goats breeding, the prospects of joint seminars and exercises for inspectors of competent authorities and farmers from both countries.
As to the report, within the meeting Lapa has stressed that the exchange of experience between Ukrainian and Austrian inspectors of the competent authorities would facilitate the Ukrainian transition to the new standards (which comly with the EU veterinary, State control and quality requirements).
