Grosman considers approval of pension reform not just political but human responsibility
27.06.2017 10:17 "Agro Perspectiva" (Kyiv) —
As of this week, while sharing an interview with Liga.net, Ukrainian Prime Minister Volodymyr Groisman has said the adoption of the Government pension reform which provides for raising pensions for 9 million pensioners, preserving retirement age, eliminating taxes for working pensioners, restoring social justice for working people, and overcoming the deficit of the Pension Fund implies not just political but human responsibility, Government Portal reports.
«This reform is inevitable and vital. The pension system of the country is in fact greatly jeopardized. Hence, its not just political, its human responsibility of the President, the Prime Minister, the Government, MPs, factions, unaffiliated parliamentarians, and parliamentary groups. We must make this decision. And I, following its approval, express my commitment to assume full responsibility for the success of the reform,» Groisman admitted.
The Head of Government emphasized that the President of Ukraine supports the initiatives of the Cabinet of Ministers, and there isn’t any disagreement. «12.5 million pensioners are expecting for improved pension, while 9 million of them will receive it since this year Oct 1,» he told.
«What does the reform stipulate? Restoring justice we will carry out modernization of pensions. The second position is no increase in retirement age. The third is to completely eliminate the deficit of the Pension Fund within 710 years,» Groisman said.
