As of today, while on a working visit to Zhytomyr region, Ukrainian Prime Minister Volodymyr Groisman said Government is eager to support a large scale privatization of State-owned companies that are not strategically important as developing proper approach it is just reducing State involvement will ensure investment boost and economic growth, Government Portal reports.
«We have 3,500 State-owned companies in Ukraine. It is nonsense. The largest number of these companies are either inefficient or a source of corruption. My position is as follows: those (companies) that are not of strategic importance should be sold through public, open and transparent auctions,» Groisman stressed.
«Efficient and public sale of State-owned companies will provide an opportunity to attract investment and facilitate the economic growth. From this growth every citizen of Ukraine - from child to senior citizens who will have an opportunity to receive boosted retirement payments - will benefit,» Groisman added.
