Poroshenko: Ukraine, Estonia to enhance economic cooperation

As of today, within his official visit to Estonia, President of Ukraine Petro Poroshenko has discussed the intensification of economic cooperation between the two states with President of Estonia Kersti Kaljulaid, President Petro Poroshenko Press Office reports.
«We have discussed the development of economic cooperation between the two states and the improvement of investment climate in Ukraine. We have noted the need for speeding up the issue of holding the meeting of the Intergovernmental Ukraine-Estonia Commission for Trade, Economic and Scientific-Technical Cooperation,» Poroshenko told while speaking within the joint press statement.
As to the report, Ukrainian President has thanked the Estonian partners for the assistance in the establishment of e-governance in Ukraine. «The efforts of Estonia are highly appreciated by the Presidential Administration and the Ukrainian Government. The e-governance of Ukraine has achieved significant progress due to your support and cooperation,» he said.
Besides, Poroshenko also stressed the importance of the Estonian powerful support in the provision of the visa-free regime for Ukrainians, speeding up the ratification of the Ukraine-EU Association Agreement and provision of the macro-financial assistance for Ukraine.
«We have also discussed the first steps and the agenda of the Estonia’s presidency in the EU. We are willing to make certain steps to achieve maximum efficiency,» Poroshenko noted.
Reportedly, Poroshenko has invited the President of Estonia to visit Ukraine within the shirt time.
As to the report, Kaljulaid has emphasized that the parties had also discussed the Eastern Partnership initiative of the EU and the goals of Estonia within its EU presidency. «Ukraine was a priority state for our cooperation and after Maidan our support has strengthened,» she said. Besides, Kaljulaid has added that the parties had also discussed spheres and directions within which Ukraine needs assistance.
