Ukrainian 2016 tomatoes export up 65%

Ukrainian 2016 tomatoes export has jumped to US$17.2 million (up 65% or US$6.8 million against 2015, Ukrinform says referring to Latifundist.com report.
As to the report, most of Ukrainian tomatoes export, over 94%, was sold to Belarus and Poland. Thus, in part., 79.4%
(US$ 13.7 million) of total tomatoes export were shipped to Belarus (14.8% or US$2.5 million to Poland).
Reportedly, at the same time, Ukraine imported tomatoes from Turkey and Spain to the amount of US$30 million in 2016. In particular, import from Turkey totaled US$26 million (88.1% total) and from Spain US$ 1.9 million (6.5%).
As to the earlier report, within Jan-Aug 2016, 2,300 tons of Ukrainian tomatoes were shipped to the EU market, while within Jan-Aug 2015 Ukraine had managed to export to EU only 243 tons.
