Encouraging greater collaboration between the United Nations and the creative community was the focus of the UN Secretary-General visit to Los Angeles this week Wednesday, UN Radio reports.
Thus, Ban Ki-moon arrived in the city, home to Hollywood, for two events which support that partnership.
A statement from his office said this relationship was «extremely valuable» as it allowed the UN agenda to reach millions of people worldwide.
UN Deputy Spokesman Farhan Haq has more on the Secretary-Generals travels.
«He will also have a chance to meet and have a conversation with a group of recently arrived refugees from Asia, Africa, Latin America and the Middle East at an event co-sponsored by the International Rescue Committee, the Annenberg Foundation and the UN Foundation. He is expected to express his gratitude to the authorities in California, as it is the top state in receiving resettled refugees in the United States,» the UN Deputy Spokesman Farhan Haq admitted while speaking on the Secretary-General travels.
